Fingletoad, Strange & Siho

Psychedelic trio Fingletoad, Unusual & Siho shaped in the springtime of 1965 in the Chicago suburb of Oak Recreation area, IL. Bassist Roger Glienke (aka “Nigel Fingletoad”) and guitarist Philip Novak (“Siho”) 1st collaborated in the senior high school garage area music group known variously as the Philters as well as the Illusions before buying the Era circa the 1966 introduction of drummer and third vocalist Richard LaPointe (the near future “Neil Unusual”). A staple of regional teen night clubs and college dances, the Era documented a now-rare solitary offering their cover of Sam Cooke’s spirit classic “Tremble” before splitting in nov 1968 as Novak proceeded to go off towards the University or college of Notre Dame. As classmates in the University or college of Illinois, Chicago, Glienke and LaPointe continuing their collaboration and in Oct 1969 recruited bassist Bob Cabanban to record an unreleased LP, Fingletoad and Unusual. A year later on Novak came back to Chicago lengthy enough to slice a second recording, dubbed Mazzola and released within a vanity pressing of significantly less than 100 copies.
