Filthy Dukes

A stylish upgrade on ’80s synth pop, Filthy Dukes 1st took form in 2005 when golf club promoters Olly Dixon and Tim Lawton started DJing like a duo while helping acts at their Destroy Em Forever at London’s Fabric nightclub. Ultimately interests converted from spinning information to producing their own information, and both began liberating remixes, including tracks from the Rakes, Bloc Party, and Heloise & the Savoir Faire. Following the achievement of their Maccabees remix, Dixon and Lawton had been persuaded by their musical peers to create their own materials. Teaming up with maker Tag Ralph, they began documenting in the studio room.
