Danish indie rock outfit Figurines shaped in the middle-’90s around childhood friends vocalist/guitarist Christian Hjelm, bassist Andreas Toft, and guitarist/vocalist Claus Salling Johansen. The people began training at an area school and primarily all three performed acoustic guitar until Toft used bass and Johansen manned the drums. They started playing gigs around their hometown of Aalborg, and in nov 2001 Figurines documented the five-song EP The Detour. Finished up during the period of one weekend, the EP sold-out quickly as well as the trio quickly authorized to Denmark indie Morningside Information. From the year’s end, drummer Kristian Volden (aka Volle) got became a member of the group and Johansen shifted back again to playing acoustic guitar. Boasting a lo-fi audio with components of rings like Modest Mouse, Pavement, and Created to Spill arriving, the quartet started documenting its debut, Tremble a Hill, in Dec 2002. Completed on weekends between college (both university and senior high school) and function commitments, the record premiered in Apr 2003 to rave evaluations in Denmark. Figurines toured from coast to coast that yr, including a slot machine in the Roskilde Event; meanwhile, the recording produced the strike single “Shiny,” which topped the Danish alternate charts by past due summer. By springtime 2004 Tremble a Mountain got hit racks in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. Their follow-up work, Skeleton, was released in Apr 2005, creating two more lucrative singles in the home, “THE SWEETNESS” and “Metallic Ponds.” The music group toured European countries throughout springtime and fall 2005, and upon starting up using the Control Group, noticed the UNITED STATES launch of Skeleton in 2006. Having brand-new cover artwork, the record made an appearance in Canada that January as well as the U.S. in Apr. Figurines continuing touring in European countries, Canada, and america, including an end on the year’s South by Southwest celebration in Austin, Tx. A 5th member, Mads Kjærgaard (synth, electric guitar, vocals) would ultimately sign up for the group aswell. The self-titled Figurines made an appearance in 2011, offering the one “Dangling from Above.”
