Fighting Jacks

San Jose melodic punk-pop combo Fighting Jacks shaped in 2000 around Casey Linstrum, Cory Linstrum, Mike Hoppe, and Mike Wright, who already had a brief history together as users from the ska-punk group Freeto Vessel. Soon after getting the Fighting with each other Jacks, the quartet documented and self-released Inside Trade Contract; the EP produced a buzz round the Bay Region, and the music group started to gig aggressively along the West Coastline. Fighting Jacks authorized with indie Teeth & Toenail in early 2003, after several major-label showcases proceeded to go nowhere. Despite its lower profile, the Seattle label do provide a roster and perspective friendly towards the Jacks’ Christian-leaning ideologies. Wright departed immediately after the label paperwork was prepared, and was changed by ex-FAN5 drummer Jon Sontag. The Dying Artwork of Life made an appearance in late Oct 2003.
