Fifth Avenue Band

Singer-songwriter Peter Galloway led this engaging Los Angeles-based sextet whose good-time design invoked the carefree quality from the early Lovin’ Spoonful. Jon Lind (vocals), Kenny Altman (business lead electric guitar), Murray Weinstock (keyboards), Jerry Burnham (bass/flute) and Pete Heywood (drums) finished the line-up highlighted in the Fifth Avenue Music group’s debut recording, but despite an undoubted elegance, its anachronistic characteristics found few industrial favours. Galloway consequently created Ohio Knox, a short-lived device which also presented drummer Dallas Taylor, previously of Crosby, Stills, Nash And Youthful. The vocalist after that embarked on a single career.
