b. Cecil Williamson, 30 Sept 1920, McVeigh, Kentucky, USA. As a kid Williamson used the violin, getting an accomplished nation fiddle participant. His sister, LaVerne Lois Williamson (b. 9 July 1923, McVeigh, Kentucky, USA, d. 5 Dec 1987, USA), performed banjo and acoustic guitar and in addition sang. She and her sibling began working collectively, including showing up with another sibling on radio from Williamson, Western Virginia. Williamson and his sister also made an appearance in 1939 using the Content Valley Males, a music group led by Johnny Bailes where Small Jimmy Dickens also performed. In those far-off, pre-politically right days, the second option was billed as the Performing Midget. The siblings also caused Lynn Davis in 1940 in the Cumberland Hill People and with these rings often made an appearance on radio, including broadcasting on WJLS, Beckley, Western Virginia. Also noticed with the music group for some time was bass participant and vocalist Carl Smith . For this period, LaVerne used the name, Molly O’Day time , and later continued to reach a broad audience and accomplish much greater popularity than her sibling. The Cumberland Hill Folks documented for Columbia Information and developed a significant pursuing, with O’Day time setting markers where later on and better-remembered feminine country singers will be judged. In the mean time, Williamson continued to try out fiddle with numerous bands, to all or any which he brought his energetic method of music. He could be noticed on some compilations, generally on tracks offering O’Day. Little is well known of his old age and if he’s still alive.
