Fernest “Man” Abshire

Fernest “Guy” Abshire showed a pastime in music from enough time he was 12 years of age. Four years later on in 1950, a teenaged Abshire installed with Lawrence Walker and dedicated 2 yrs to performing and drumming for him. By 1953, Abshire got left his work with Walker and became a member of the Lafayette Playboys, beneath the management of Aldus Roger. During this time period, Roger’s band produced weekly looks on Lafayette, LA, tv train station KLFY. Abshire continued to be with the clothing until 1964. His additional musical associations add a stint with Belton Richard. Abshire contracted leukemia and passed on in 1964 as well as the Cajun Music Hall of Popularity inducted him posthumously in 1997. The set of tracks he either penned or documented contains “Lafayette Two-Step,” “One Scotch, One Bourbon, One Ale,” “La Valse a Nonc Alcee,” “Family members Waltz,” “You Desire Me Back again Waltz,” “I Approved before Your Door,” “Tout les Deux Pour la Meme,” “Chere Tout Tout,” “La Valse de Parasol,” and “Flames of Hell.”
