Biography
b. 1950, Havana, Cuba. Salsa vocalist and composer Lavoy, found its way to the united states in 1980 and was launched on con sigo con mi child by Alfredo ‘Chocolates’ Armenteros. He sang business lead vocals and published half the songs on Los Soneros, the 1981 debut from the music group of the same name. In 1981, Lavoy made an appearance on two albums by SAR Almost all Celebrities. In 1982, he required celebrity billing on Fernando Lavoy Y Los Soneros and made up half the tunes. Aside from sessioning being a chorus vocalist in Miami, Lavoy vanished in the music scene through the remainder from the 80s. He came back with Fernando Lavoy Con Un Conjunto Dinastiadiez, that was documented in Bogotá, Colombia and Miami, Florida. Musically, the record was among the strongest salsa produces of 1990.
