Biography
This US quintet formed in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 1987. Nevertheless, it was shortly before they relocated towards the shiny lights of LA in the search for wider publicity and A&R interest from record businesses. Fronted by Lorraine Lewis (b. 26 Sept, Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA), these were quickly purchased by MCA Information, who designated Jim Faraci (of L.A. Weapons popularity) as maker. Musically, they strived to part the same marketplace as Bon Jovi, counting on a pop/hard rock and roll crossover strategy. In interviews Lewis frequently mentioned her objective was to become the largest ‘pin up lady’ in rock and roll. The music group, finished by Mazzi Rawd (acoustic guitar), Expenses D’Angelo (d. 22 November 2005; acoustic guitar), Rick Rael (bass) and Bobby Murray (drums), documented a self-titled debut recording that played out heavily on the vocalist’s sexuality. This process frequently overshadowed Lewis’ legitimate ability, and even though it had been received favourably with the critics, it had been quickly consigned towards the discount bins, as the music group disappeared without track. Lewis continued to record single material before developing Mercy with ex-Black Eyed Susan bass participant Erik Levy, with this device releasing an record in 1993. She resumed single work later within the decade.
