Fefe Dobson was a Toronto-based songstress who brokered demonstration recordings and some solid sector showcases right into a deal with Isle/Def Jam, which issued her eponymous debut in Oct 2003. The record showcased Dobson’s brassy vocals more than a pop-alternative, radio-ready groove skating between designs and incorporating a lot of guitar dynamics. On her behalf component, the 18-year-old cited vocal and songwriting affects which range from Judy Garland to Kurt Cobain. As business lead single “Consider Me Away” begun to make sound online and at radio, Dobson participated in Camplified 2003, a tour of East Coastline youngsters camps that also highlighted fellow up-and-comer Skye Sweetnam. The singer’s sophomore record, Sunday Like, was slated for discharge in 2006 but because of the industrial failure of both singles issued in advance, she was rather fell by her label. Displaying that possibly the label was incorrect to question her appeal, music from the record were included in Jordin Sparks, Selena Gomez, as well as the Norwegian gal group Lilyjets. Within the years after she was release by Isle, Dobson also composed music for Miley Cyrus, acquired a track highlighted over the Whip It soundtrack, rather than stopped executing, knocking a audience of sector types out using a cover of “River Deep, Hill High” on the 2010 Stone Hall of Popularity induction wedding ceremony. By this time around she had agreed upon to 21 Music (ironically a subsidiary of Isle/Def Jam), and in November of 2010 she released Pleasure.

"This is such a wonderful thing for me to work with new people and get fresh ideas. I will keep everyone in the loop with everything, and I will let you know when Sunday Love has a new release date." (on leaving Island Records and addressing her fans on her new album).
When you're young you don't think, 'This person is going to change your life.' But when you start recording your own songs, it comes back and reminds you.
"In the booth where I was singing, I had inspirational posters up: Coldplay, Jeff Buckley, the Vines, Judy Garland, and of course, Nirvana. I felt like, they've done it, and now I'm doing it. It gave me an extra boost." (On who inspires her)
It's like I've experienced quite a weird and unusual life, you know, being with a mom who's a single parent and struggling with money and things like that. It's really hard. And it brings a lot of other insecurities in life and a lot of other issues in life, in school and a bunch of other things."
The things that drive me are poverty, and pain, and knowing that I don't want to end up being alone and I want to do something with my life and I want the name Dobson to remain in everyone's heads. Basically, just to rock and be the best performer I can be, and be true, and be real, and give people the real Fefe, nothing fake, all real.
"My old life is still my new life cause I'm still the same gal!" (On her new life as a rock star).
"I get my clothes in vintage stores! I love puma jackets, and I love my converse shoes. I love Levis, and diesel jeans! I don't shop at Roots Canada!" (On where she shops).
"I believe that we should be able to marry whom ever we choose. As long as both people are willing...I say go for it!" (On gay marriages).
