THE BRAND NEW York City-based contemporary rock group the Feathermerchants includes songwriter/guitarist/bouzouki player Pete Veru, guitarist/bouzouki player/producer Jim Chapdelaine, drummer/percussionist John Peckman, bassist Drew Glackin, and vocalists Alison Winston and Erin O’Hara. Originally a rubbish connection salesman, Veru started playing electric guitar at 29, incorporating the melodies and musical instruments of his family’s Greek root base with pop tune structures and preparations. Previous roommate Glackin became a member of the group being a guitarist and turned to bass following the addition of Chapdelaine, who earned an Emmy Prize for his composing and creation focus on PBS’ The Producing of “Amistad” documentary. The Feathermerchants earned the Best Musician award at 1998’s Intel Music Celebration, and the next season they released their self-titled debut record independently label, Innocent 12th St. In five years period, the Feathermerchants do away making use of their worldbeat affects for any fuller, American pop audio. Their long-awaited sophomore work, Unarmed Contrary to the Dark also presented fresh vocalist Shannon Kennedy, who changed Alison Winston and Erin O’Hara. THE ROAD Theater EP adopted a year later on. 2006’s Last Guy on Earth positioned on CMJ’s Best 200 Albums graph, generating the Feathermerchants their biggest recording debut up to now.
