Biography
His high, quavering delivery helped supply the New Influx music group the Undertones their identification, you start with the 1978 EP saving debut Teenage Kicks. While using the North Irish music group, Sharkey sang about teenage angst because the music group performed spirited punky pop. Following the group disbanded in 1983, brothers Sean O’Neill and Damian O’Neill created That Petrol Feelings, while Sharkey proceeded to go solo. A vocalist with an immediately recognizable tone of voice, he broke to a wider target audience with an influenced cover of Maria McKee’s “AN EXCELLENT Center” from his single debut, achieving the the surface of the U.K. graphs. Helped significantly by maker Dave Stewart of Eurythmics and arranger Michael Kamen on his single debut, Sharkey by no means reached those levels once again. He sang within the 1983 EP By no means By no means by the Set up, a short-lived music group created by previous Yaz member Vince Clarke. Sharkey released Want in 1988, but his saving profession was essentially carried out.
