The ancient music of the center East has been given today’s twist by Iraq-born and Paris-based oud (lute) and oboe player and vocalist Fawzy Al-Aiedy. Affectionately referred to as the “Sultan of golf swing,” Al-Aiedy is constantly on the bridge the original music from the East as well as the improvised sensibility from the Western. Hailing from your Iraqi harbor town of Bassorah, Al-Aiedy analyzed violin and performing at age 14. His dreams of learning music abroad appeared to dissolve following the Ba’ath required control of Iraq and released an edict prohibiting Iraqi residents from leaving the united states. Pleading to Saddam Hussein for authorization to keep, he instead discovered himself drafted in to the Iraqi military. After 90 days of basic teaching, he was used in the military’s music department. Allowed to happen to be European countries in 1971, Al-Aiedy resolved in Paris and started to research the oboe. He released his debut recording, Silence, five years later on. His subsequent produces have centered on interpreting the music from the period depicted in the publication 1001 Arabian Evenings. Some of his albums have already been directed at an over-all audience, Al-Aiedy provides recorded many albums for kids.
