Faun

A German pagan folk music group, Faun incorporate middle ages instruments and themes plus a modern digital musical sheen. Founded in 2002 in Munich, the music group is made up of Oliver Sa Tyr (vocals, nyckelharpa, Celtic harp, bouzouki, lute, percussion), Fiona Rüggeberg (vocals, bagpipes, dombra, rebab, oud, flutes, chalmeux, pommer), Sandra Elflein (vocals, violin, flute), Rüdiger Maul (darbuka, davul, bendir, tamborello, riq, berimbao, percussion), and Niel Mitra (development, sampler, synthesizer); previous members consist of Lisa Pawelke (vocals, hurdy-gurdy). The music group made its documenting debut in 2002 over the German pagan folk label Curzweyhl with Zaubersprüche (2002), accompanied by Licht (2004), Renaissance (2005), and Totem (2007), the last mentioned which was their initial to break right into the German Best 100 album graph. Furthermore to Faun’s affiliation with Curzweyhl, the music group was also associated with the American label Noir Information, which released Renaissance and Totem stateside. In 2008 the music group released its initial live record, Faun & the Pagan Folk Celebration (2008), and welcomed Sandra Elflein into its rates instead of departed bandmember Lisa Pawelke. A completely acoustic record, Buch der Balladen, made an appearance in ’09 2009 implemented in 2011 by Eden. In 2013, Faun agreed upon with Universal Information and released their seventh studio room record, Von den Elben. Among recently written materials, the album included re-worked variations of a few of their previous songs and highlighted new vocalist Katja Moslehner, plus a variety of visitor vocalists. Charting at amount seven in Germany, it could become their biggest achievement to date.
