Fatal Opera

For all intents and reasons, legendary Megadeth drummer Gar Samuelson seemed to have retired after his acrimonious dismissal from the volatile Dave Mustaine in 1986. But, actually, he and his guitar-playing sibling Stew were occupied building their personal studio room in Orange Town, FL, and finally drafted vocalist Dave Inman and bassist Travis Karcher to create a new music group known as Fatal Opera. Their eponymous debut surfaced in 1995 and, along using its 1997 follow-up, Eleventh Hour (offering new vocalist Andy Freeman and second guitarist Billy Brehme), mixed lots of the same thrash metallic hallmarks Gar experienced helped to pioneer, combined in with an increase of intensifying tendencies. But that 1st album’s most startling feature was most definitely the track entitled “Deceased by 1998,” which tragically demonstrated disturbingly prophetic, when the drummer passed on from liver failing on July 14, 1999.
