“Fast” Eddie Clarke

Biography

The blistering guitarist for Motörhead between 1976 and 1982, Fast Eddie Clarke appeared and helped write a large number of the band’s classics: “Ace of Spades,” “Iron Fist,” “Bomber,” “Rock Deceased Forever,” and “Overkill.” Previously in the rings Blue Goose and Constant Performance, Clarke became a member of Motörhead because of its 1st (released) recording, 1977’s Motörhead. Clarke performed around the band’s best-selling albums (Bomber, Overkill, Ace of Spades, No Rest ‘Til Hammersmith), but remaining through the tour for 1982’s Iron Fist because of a deteriorating romantic relationship with Motörhead frontman Lemmy. Clarke after that created the hard rock and roll quintet Fastway, which documented for Columbia through the entire remaining 1980s. Fast Eddie Clarke’s single debut, It Ain’t Over Right up until It’s Over, made an appearance in 1994.
