Often criticized to be rather obvious Opeth clones (hey, they might have done a whole lot worse with regards to cloning materials), Finland’s Farmakon make progressive death metallic marked simply by epic compositions and ambitious creative variety. Founded in 2001 by vocalist/bassist Marko Eskola, guitarists Lassi Paunonen and Toni Salminen, and drummer Riku Airisto, the group debuted with 2003’s daring A Warm Glance and, now offering fresh drummer Matti Auerkallio, offers yet to show they are able to forgo a tone of voice of their very own having a follow-up album.
