Biography

Beneath the name Farben, the prolific Jan Jelinek — who also operates under his own name so when Gramm — makes his most ornate, most dub-suffused, & most dancefloor-friendly materials. Moreover, his knack for simple intricacy is probably at its greatest when crafted under this guise. Between July of 1998 and Apr of 2002, six Farben 12″ produces for the German Klang Elektronik label strike the racks: Farben, Stuck, Featuring the Dramatics, Fresh Macro, Silikon, and Farben Says: Don’t Combat Phrases. Apr of 2002 also noticed the discharge of two compilations. Starbox, a vinyl-only bundle, simply mixed Featuring the Dramatics through Farben Says: Don’t Combat Phrases. Textstar, a CD-only bundle, gleaned from those produces without being almost as thorough.
