Hailing from Dayton, OH, Fannigan’s Isle uses the Irish pub music from the Clancy Brothers as well as the high-spirited American folk music from the Kingston Trio like a springboard for his or her own unique mixture of traditional folk forms. Made up of Rick Fannin and Tom Scheidt, both having spent stints in rock and roll bands within the ’60s, both found a shared respect of every other’s skills and created Fannigan’s Isle in 1984 beneath the notion of recreating the music of the above mentioned heroes. The duo quickly obtained a status for high-spirited concert events and garnered accolades for his or her accomplished shows on several folk instruments. From the past due ’90s, Fannigan’s Isle was a popular around the folk event, university, and pub circuit, because they experienced released two well-received selections on Folk Period records. The dual arranged, Orange & Green, divided between one disk of live songs and something of studio room recordings, has an superb introduction with their music.
