Facing New York

Despite the music group name, Facing NY hail in the punk rock and roll mecca from the SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA Bay Area picture, a second-generation emo music group with some progressive and post-rock tendencies that grew out of two small earlier outfits. Vocalist and guitarist Eric Frederic and keyboardist Rene Carranza’s music group, Locale A.M., experienced released two albums, 2001’s The Noises of Springtime and 2003’s Breaking the 4th Wall structure, before splitting. Their labelmates on the neighborhood Pop Smear imprint, Tragedy Andy, experienced released 2003’s It’s Hardly ever Too Late to start out Over before guitarist Matthew Fazzi and drummer Omar Cuellar had taken its titular information and left to create Facing NY with Frederic and Carranza in early 2004, adding bassist Brandon Canchola to comprehensive the lineup. Signing up for the 2004 Vans Warped Tour and documenting a self-released EP, Going swimming Not really Treading, the music group elevated its profile more than enough to sign using the indie label Five One Information. Following two even more singles, one of these a divide EP with Amity, Facing NY released their self-titled debut record in the summertime of 2005. Focus on the follow-up was postponed when Rene Carranza announced in the summertime of 2006 that he was departing the music group to come back to college. With Fazzi and Frederic splitting key pad tasks between them, Facing NY thought we would continue being a quartet.
