With influences spanning Captain Beefheart, Super Furry Animals, as well as the Beta Band, Belfast, Ireland’s eclectic exmagician may be the task of lifelong friends Daniel Todd and James Smith. Previously, the duo performed in Cashier No. 9, whose David Holmes-produced 2011 recording To the Loss of life of Fun gained them essential acclaim and radio airplay. After Cashier No. 9 folded, Todd and Smith searched for a rawer, even more playful sound. The duo’s initial full-length, Check the Blue, found its way to March 2016.
