Ex Cathedra

Ex Cathedra can be an early music ensemble, located in Birmingham, Britain, that adapts towards the needs from the music it performs. The Choir generally numbers 40 performers, as the Consort includes eight to 12 performers. Founded in 1969 by Jeffrey Skidmore, who’s conductor and creative director, Ex girlfriend or boyfriend Cathedra performs early music and brand-new repertoire, delivering choral works in the Renaissance to modern pieces commissioned designed for them. Skidmore and many members acquired sung previously in the choir at Birmingham Cathedral, as well as the name was selected partly being a pun on the word “ex girlfriend or boyfriend cathedra,” signifying, “in the throne” or “with power.” The group aspires to execute with authority, pursuing historic scholarship or grant and pursuing the best possible artistry, thereby gaining its name. During its 1983-84 period, Skidmore added instrumentalists to the business as the Ex girlfriend or boyfriend Cathedra Baroque Outfit or Orchestra. Ex girlfriend or boyfriend Cathedra provides concerts in Birmingham and London, performs in celebrations in britain and European countries, and has documented on Hyperion, ASV, and Alto.
