Evgeny Akimov

Evgeny Akimov (alternative spellings: Yevgeny, Jevgenij, etc.) is certainly a respected tenor together with the Kirov Opera on the Mariinsky Movie theater in his indigenous St. Petersburg. He was educated at the well-known Conservatory (called after Rimsky-Korsakov) for the reason that town and produced a name for himself by earning a number of important vocal honours and tournaments. In 1996, he was involved being a soloist together with the Kirov Opera. He provides visited international countries many times. He visited Germany within the Moscow Children’s Opera Movie theater. As part of the St. Petersburg Vocal Sextet he provides toured Germany, Italy, and Japan, so that as a member from the Kirov provides sung within their touring productions in Spain, France, Belgium, holland, Finland, and in america around the stage from the Metropolitan Opera Home in NY. On his house stage, he sings the worldwide tenor repertory, including such functions as the Duke in Verdi’s Rigoletto, Cassio in Otello, and Count number Almaviva in Rossini’s Barber of Seville. He’s better known, internationally, for his portrayals of both personality and leading tenor functions in Russian operas, including Antonio in Prokofiev’s Betrothal inside a Monastery (The Duenna), Prince Vladimir in Borodin’s Prince Igor, the Fool (Yurodivy) in Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov, Bayan in Glinka’s Ruslan and Ludmila, Prokofiev’s Semyon Kotko, in Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Tsar’s Bride-to-be, as well as the Prince of Night clubs in Prokofiev’s Like for Three Oranges. His Compact disc releases consist of Boris, Betrothal, Oranges, Kotko, and Tsar’s Bride-to-be, and he shows up on video in Kirov productions of Prince Igor and Betrothal.
