Evan Johns

Johns (b. 1955) had fronted many rings in the Virginia/DC locale, arriving at the interest of guitarist Danny Gatton and finally performing vocals and composing the title monitor to Gatton’s Redneck Jazz recording. He created The H-Bombs in the past due ’70s, documenting an eponymous four-song EP within the small Deco label. After shifting to Austin, TX, Johns became a member of The LeRoi Brothers in the first ’80s. Johns was nominated for any Grammy for guesting within the Big Guitars from Tx recording, a compilation of Austin’s greatest. He re-formed The H-Bombs, carnival-barker tone of voice and crazed acoustic guitar chops intact, and offers continued in to the ’90s having a spate of frenzied, off-kilter albums since.
