Hungarian soprano Eva Marton has enjoyed an extremely successful career for the world’s leading operatic stages because the past due ’60s. With her effective, attractive voice she’s managed to rating numerous successes within the Italian spinto assignments of Verdi and Puccini, the heftier assignments of Wagner and Richard Strauss, as well as the even more delicate but similarly demanding types of Mozart. In 1972, on the behest of conductor Christoph von Dohnányi, she debuted on the Frankfurt Opera as Countess Almaviva.
