Eureka California

Eureka California are an indie rock and roll duo that shaped in Athens, Georgia in the first 2010s. Composed of vocalist/guitarist/songwriter Jake Ward and drummer Marie A. Uhler, the music group catches the slacker rock and roll sound from the 1990s (Pavement, Butterglory) while injecting it with some post-millennial angst. They released an individual, CONTEMPORARY TIMES, for hometown label Content Happy Birthday if you ask me in the springtime of 2011 and in addition contributed a tune (“THERE IS NO Looking Back again”) towards the Wuxtry record around once. In 2012, the group released its debut record, Big Felines Can Swim, and implemented it in 2014 using the similarly peppy sophomore LP Crunch, both on HHBTM. Because of their third record in 3 years, Ward and Uhler journeyed to England, dealing with MJ from Hookworms at his Suburban House Studios. The causing Versus was Eureka California’s most powerful-sounding work to time, with blown-out electric guitar and howling vocals. It had been released by HHBTM in early 2016.
