Eugenio Avelino

Collaborating with poet/composer Elomar, Eugenio Avelino, who works beneath the pseudonym Xangai, provides possibly created Brazil’s most literate music. A indigenous from the northeastern Brazilian condition of Bahia, Avelino spent a long time herding cattle. His tone of voice has been referred to as “sinus” and “severe.”
