Eugene Mona

This legendary bamboo flutist, songwriter, and performer was an exceptionally creative musician who, on the main one hand, was a keeper from the flame of rural music traditions and who, alternatively, had not been afraid to test out the addition of contemporary sounds. He established the stage onto which afterwards emerged Dede St. Prix, Marce Pago, Pakatak, yet others. Mona passed away in August of 1991.
