Home / Biography / Eucharist

Swedish death metallic combo Eucharist released two middle-’90s albums. The very first, 1994’s A Velvet Creation, highlighted Markus Johnsson (vocals, electric guitar), Thomas Einarsson (electric guitar), Tobias Gustafsson (bass), and Daniel Erlandsson (drums), as the second, 1997’s Mirrorworlds, noticed them reduced towards the trio of Johnsson, Erlandsson, and bassist Martin Karlsson. Among numerous groups using a hand in building the melodic style today referred to as the Gothenburg Sound, Eucharist didn’t fare especially well when confronted with the era’s stiff competition, and the effect was that its employees was ultimately cannibalized by its competitors. Most notably, first bassist Gustaffsson finished up in thrashers Armageddon, and drummer Erlandsson do amount of time in Gothenburg scene market leaders In Flames before settling in even more completely with Arch Foe.
