Shimelis Beyene (b. 1 Apr 1952, Ethiopia; trumpet), Mengesha Teferi (b. 25 Might 1954, Ethiopia; electric guitar), Frew Mengiste (26 November 1966, Ethiopia; bass), Berhane Kidane (b. 10 Apr 1961, Ethiopia; keyboards), Neser Awel (b. 31 Dec 1955, Ethiopia; drums). Shaped in 1981 by Beyene, the Ethio Superstars initially featured music artists who got previously been people of two of the very most successful rings in Addis Ababa at that time (therefore the name).
