Biography

Among reggae’s early performers, Errol Durkley bridged the origins music of Jamaica, in the 1960s, and London’s Brit-reggae picture from the ‘70s. His biggest strike, a remake of John Holt’s “Okay Fred”, which hardly missed the united kingdom top in 1978, was re-recorded, like a duet with Queen Sister *N*, in 1996. Eleven yrs . old when he produced his documenting debut, Dunkley continued to utilize a lot of Jamaica’s best suppliers. His debut 1964 documenting, “My Queen”, was made by Prince Buster, while Joe Gibbs oversaw the documenting of his 1st strike, You’re Gonna Require Me”, in 1967. Although he documented several music for Clement “Coxsone” Dodd’s Studio room One and Bunny Lee, non-e became popular. He fared far better with “Three IN A SINGLE”, made by Rupie Edwards, in 1969, and dancehall anthem, “Dark Cinderella”, made by Jimmy Rodway, in 1972. His 1st album, Showing Errol Durkley, adopted shortly later on. Although he founded the African Museum label with Gregory Isaacs and obtained the imprint’s 1st strike single, “CELEB”, predicated on Delroy Wilson’s “I HAVE NO IDEA Why”, within the early-1970s, Durkley remaining the label and relocated to London, in 1973. Putting your signature on using the Shelley Documenting Company, Dunkley documented his second recording, Sit down And Cry inside a London studio room. Durkley continuing to create a following in britain and European countries. His 1st British strike, “JUST A LITTLE Method Different”, released in 1974, was accompanied by such UK produces as “Betcha By Golly Wow”, “Joy Neglect” and “Okay Fred. Durkley’s debut recording was reissued, as Darling Ooh, in 1991. After keeping a minimal profile, like a documenting artist, within the 1980s, Durkley released Continually in 2000 and Make sure you Stop Your Laying in 2001.
