Erosion

During the period of four albums and something EP released between 1989 and 1995, Germany’s Erosion constantly appeared like reluctant thrashers whose hearts actually belonged to hardcore. Led by vocalist Chris Zenk, guitarist Stefan Römhild, drummer Klaus Nowakowski, and backed by a Vertebral Tap-sized parade of henchmen (including, at once, Paragon bassist Jan Bünning and potential Holy Moses guitarist Michael Hankel), it had been perhaps this insufficient focus that jeopardized the band’s likelihood of success. From the launch of 1995’s swan music, Down, Daniel Geiger got stepped set for the departed Zenk, however, not for very long, as Erosion made a decision to break up a short while later.
