Ernie Krivda

An excellent tenor saxophonist having a forceful audio and a genuine attack that occasionally utilizes staccato phrases, Ernie Krivda has recorded stimulating classes for Inner Town, North Coastline Jazz, Cadence, and Koch without gaining very much popularity. He originally performed clarinet, switching to alto in senior high school and later on, to tenor. In 1964, he performed for a couple months using the Jimmy Dorsey ghost music group and he spent the past due ’60s playing locally in Cleveland, documenting with Expenses Dobbins for the Arrival label (1969); they co-led a quintet for a couple years. Krivda performed in LA with Quincy Jones (1973) and lived in NY for an interval (1976-1979). However in general, Ernie Krivda (who deserves very much greater reputation) offers spent the majority of his profession as an essential section of Cleveland’s jazz picture.
