With the passage of Wild Bill Davison in 1989, Ernie Carson has come the closest of one to filling up the gap left with the colorful and highly expressive cornetist. Carson started playing trumpet while in sentence structure college and was employed in movie theater bands by enough time he was a junior in senior high school. A member from the Castle Jazz Music group during 1954-1956 before spending 2 yrs in the Marines, Carson used such groupings in the LA region as those led by banjoist Dave Wierbach, Jig Adams, and Ray Bauduc before signing up for Turk Murphy (1961-1962). Carson provides made an appearance in countless configurations (including with vocalist Pat Yankee) and provides frequently led his very own groups, like the Capital Town Jazz Music group (since 1972) and his very own Castle Jazz Music group (beginning in 1992).
