b. 2 Apr 1911, Madisonville, Louisiana, USA, d. 7 Apr 1983. Cagnolatti researched trumpet in his teenagers, and spent a lot of the 30s within a big music group. In the 40s and 50s he performed in a variety of brass rings at parades and funerals in New Orleans. He also performed in rings led by Alphonse Picou, Costs Matthews and Paul Barbarin. Cagnolatti continuing to try out in New Orleans, occasionally with Jim Robinson, through the 60s and 70s. A good, if occasionally unimaginative participant, Cagnolatti lent a way of measuring specialist to ensembles which he was an associate.
