Ernesto Martínez

Mexican indigenous Ernesto Martínez is usually a 20th-21st century composer more comfortable with minimalism, multi-rhythmic polyphony, texture music, digital enhancements, acoustic layering of instruments, and current modern sounds. Given birth to in Mexico Town in 1953, Martínez used composition in the Country wide College of Music, creating a method he phone calls Micro-Ritmia, merging Latin percussive noises with long shades, repetition, and delicate yet immediate melodic and harmonic undercurrents. The compositions and participant piano rolls of American Conlon Nancarrow, who resided in Mexico for a long period, also heavily affected him. By 1994 Martínez was increasing the Micro-Ritmia methods, further influenced by Balinese gamelan and cultural folk musics, in cooperation with pianist Eduardo Gonzalez, ultimately carrying out their music twelve months later on in Mexico, Cuba, and america, and documenting it in 1997. Ultimately multiple pianos or percussion devices, prepared, altered, and acoustic guitars, and marimbas had been incorporated to their audio. John Zorn’s Tzadik label released the Martínez Compact disc Mutaciónes in 2004.
