Eri Sugai

Japanese singer Eri Shugai (pronounced airy soo-gah’-ee) was raised in Osaka and became a specialist singer following finishing her schooling at 23. She relocated to Tokyo and released her 1st recording, Watashi Wa Genki Davo (which means “I’m Fine therefore Content”), in Japan in 1994. But she obtained her greatest achievement as a program singer, specifically for advertisements. She also produced her mark being a songwriter, penning “Dakishimete Future” for Eriko Miura and “Anataga Irukara Kokoniiru” for Akane Oda, both which became Best 40 strikes. Her first record to become released in the U.S. was Mai, released by Pacific Moon Information in January 2001.
