Ephel Duath

Among Italy’s most ambitious rock rings, Padova’s Ephel Duath merge the realms of loss of life, dark, and progressive metallic (think that Cynic matches Solefald), and were founded in 1998, initially like a studio room project, from the multi-talented duo of Davide Tiso (vocals, guitars, keyboards) and Giuliano Mogicato (vocals, guitars, bass). After offering over 1,000 copies of the “Opera” demonstration (and topping MP3.com’s rock charts with more than 20,000 free of charge downloads!), the set released 2000’s not formulaic Phormula to identical levels of raving and panning (but hardly ever significantly less than astounded) testimonials — eventually augmenting and reissuing it as Rephormula after putting your signature on with Earache Information subsidiary Elitist. Ephel Duath’s following work was 2003’s wildly eclectic The Painters Palette, which probably took sustained creative dangers by incorporating consumer electronics and free of charge jazz, among various other sonic accents. But, like its 2005 follow-up, Discomfort Necessary to Understand, it discovered Tiso encircled by brand-new collaborators, vocalists Luciano George Lorusso and Davide Tolomei, bassist Fabio Fecchio, and drummer Davide Piovesan, Mogicato having shifted to utilize Areas of Asphodel.
