Ensemble Masques

Outfit Masques is a Montreal-based early group, founded in 1996 by movie director and harpsichordist Olivier Fortin. Champion from the Grand Reward in the Dorian Early Music America Competition in 2000, the ensemble was chosen as the finalist from the York Early Music Competition in 2001. Outfit Masques was called following the Elizabethan masques, an application that combined music, poetry, dance, and theatre. Composed of six performers, the group specializes in 17th and 18th hundred years repertoire, and offers recorded functions by Georg Phillipp Telemann, Jean-Philippe Rameau, Johann Heinrich Schmelzer, Johan Rosenmüller, and Johann Sebastian Bach. Outfit Masques offers toured Canada, america, Mexico, and European countries, and documented for Alpha, ATMA Classique, Zig Zag Territoires, Analekta, and Dorian.
