Though short-lived, Energy 52 made a massive contribution towards the burgeoning early-’90s trance motion in Germany: “Café del Mar.” The monitor inaugurated the important Vision Q label in 1993 and continued to be one of, otherwise the, decade’s most widely used trance anthems, going through countless re-releases and remixes in the past due ’90s when trance reached its maximum popularity. The monitor was a cooperation between Paul M (aka Child Paul, given birth to Paul Schmitz Moormann) and Cosmic Baby (given birth to Harald Bluechel); both had worked collectively on two earlier EPs, Eternity and Mind-set (both 1991), but neither experienced come near to the achievement from the Café del Mar EP, which presented a variety of the monitor by both. No additional Energy 52 produces followed aside from the myriad remixes of “Café del Mar.”
