Emil Zrihan

Respectfully referred to as “the voice from the mocking bird” and “the Moroccan nightingale,” Emil Zrihan has taken the musical traditions of Morocco to Israel. Associated with oud, violin, kanoun, and darbouka, Zrihan provides utilized his multi-octave countertenor vocals to inject new lease of life into a wealthy combination of Moroccan and Judeo-Andalusian folk music, Sephardic and North African music, improvisational mawals, and music in the Mediterranean as well as the Orient. Based on RootsWorld, Zrihan “displays a startling vocal range within an eloquent, rhythmically sinuous repertoire.” Delivered within the Moroccan capital town of Rabat, Zrihan transferred with his family members to Israel at age nine. Singing skillfully since the age group of 13, he presently acts as cantor at the primary synagogue in Ashketon. Zrihan is constantly on the sing Moroccan, Syrian, and Egyptian music in Arabic dialects. Although his ensemble provides toured with as much as 35 music artists, he frequently performs using a scaled-down four-piece music group. Zrihan toured THE UNITED STATES for the very first time in 1999, executing in NY, Detroit, Chicago, and LA.
