Biography

Elvin Jones will be best-known for his association using the common John Coltrane Quartet (1960-1965) but he also had a notable profession being a bandleader and stayed a major impact in music. Jones documented as a head for many brands including Atlantic, Riverside, Impulse, Blue Be aware, Enja, PM, Vanguard, Honey Dew, Denon, Storyville, Proof, and Landmark. His commitment to and like from the drums had been such that also when confronted with health issues he continuing to support the drum stand, sometimes associated with an oxygen container. ON, MAY 18, 2004, drum tale Elvin Jones experienced heart failing and passed on.
