Elliot Lawrence

Biography

If he previously been born a decade previous, Elliot Lawrence may have been one of the most significant bandleaders from the golf swing era. Since it exercised, he was a tiny prodigy, leading a solid dance music group when he was just 20, but at that time (1945), the golf swing era was closing. Lawrence do record steadily like a innovator during 1946-1960 (for Columbia, Decca, Ruler, Dream, Vik, and Sesac), occasionally using Gerry Mulligan plans, but he mainly worked within the studios. After 1960, Lawrence halted recording jazz completely to compose, arrange, and carry out for television, movies, and the theatre. Handful of his jazz-oriented classes can be found, but his hard-to-find music will probably be worth exploring.
