Elisabeth Withers


Best known on her behalf Tony Award-nominated portrayal of Shug Avery within the Broadway music version of THE COLOUR Crimson, vocalist Elisabeth Withers can be a longtime vocalist/songwriter having a bent toward neo-soul and R&B. Given birth to in Joliet, IL, Withers remaining house with a scholarship or grant to review music in the Berklee College of Music in Boston. After graduating, she relocated to NEW YORK to wait NYU and graduated having a master’s level in 2000. Ahead of her appearance on Broadway, Withers sang back-up for a number of performers, including Celine Dion and Jennifer Lopez. It had been also during this time period that she started writing and liberating dance singles beneath the alias Elle Patrice. Fortuitously, it had been Withers’ two strike singles released under her alias, “Increasing” and “Feelings,” that garnered the eye of soul designer Nick Ashford, who aimed Withers toward the auditions for the Broadway creation of THE COLOUR Crimson. Withers released her debut single album, IT COULD Eventually Anyone, on Blue Notice in 2007.
