Eliesha Nelson

Violist Eliesha Nelson has performed regularly like a violist in a number of main orchestras and has often appeared in concert seeing that soloist and chamber very good music player. She’s been an associate from the Cleveland Orchestra since 2000, and in ’09 2009 her initial recording, a Compact disc of the entire Viola Functions of Quincy Porter, was released by Dorian Information. Nelson’s musical likes are wide: like a violist her repertory includes music from J.S. Bach to Hindemith and beyond. Like a listener, nevertheless, she prefers Renaissance-era music, especially vocal functions of Josquin des Prez, Dunstable, and Orlande de Lassus. When Nelson performed early in her profession like a violinist, she performed the Brahms concerto, the Mozart 4th and Sinfonie concertante, the Beethoven “Triple” Concerto, and far else. She was also an achieved pianist in early stages, but later committed short amount of time to key pad activity. Eliesha Nelson was created in North Pole, Alaska, on Sept 10, 1973. Her mom was a talented violinist and pianist. Nelson started playing violin via the Suzuki technique at age group six and used the piano at eight. Among her violin instructors in Alaska had been Kathleen Butler-Hopkins and Leslie Salisbury. At age group 12, Nelson got part in schooling on the Indiana String Academy, kept in June and July each summertime on the Jacobs College of Music at Indiana College or university. From 1989-1991 Nelson performed in the Cleveland Youngsters Orchestra, keeping the post of concertmaster for some of her tenure there. Nelson gained a bachelor’s level in violin on the Cleveland Institute of Music over another couple of years. Since 2000 Nelson provides served being a violist using the Cleveland Orchestra.
