Eliane Salek

Among the finest jazz performers, flutists, and pianists in Brazil, Eliane Salek was awarded both in country wide contests (Jovens Concertistas, Funarte) and international types (International Celebration of Feminine Composers, UFRJ). Being a flutist she performed using the Orquestra Sinfônica da UFRJ, the Orquestra Sinfônica perform Espírito Santo, as well as the Orquestra Sinfônica Nacional da Rádio MEC at exactly the same time that she participated in Severino Araújo’s Orquestra Tabajara and Marcos Szpillman’s Rio Jazz Orchestra. She had taken tone of voice classes with Lídia Podorowsky and Unádio González, and participated in get good at classes with Anne-Marie Helot and François Loup, having been chosen for the choir from the Teatro Municipal perform Rio de Janeiro in 1998. She’s released three single albums, one of these distributed in the U.S. with Hélcio Milito’s group. Being a pianist and flutist, she’s caused Elba Ramalho, Toquinho, Zeca Pagodinho, and Sivuca, amongst others. She also proved helpful as soundtrack composer/arranger for Television Globo in the cleaning soap operas and series Louco Amor, A Sucessora, and Best Model, that have been all exported to European countries. A researcher of Brazilian music, she received her B.A. in flute through UFRJ, attaining her master’s level in flute through UNI-RIO. She examined with Esther Scliar, Guerra Peixe, Norton Morozowikz, and Celso Woltzenlogel.
