Elementz

Located in Birmingham, U.K., the Elementz had been made up of Lickal Vain, Torsion, Noir Celebrity, Decision, and DJ Rhize. As worried about changing areas of mind just as much as areas of dancefloors, the Elementz MCs brought socially mindful raps over beats that morphed from downtempo to jazzy to banging in the blink of an attention or the twist of the phrase. Shaped in early 2000, the Elementz team quickly produced a name for itself in the U.K.’s underground hip-hop community using the Neon Verses EP, released by Different Drummer that same calendar year. Featuring three monitors with vocals and three without, the collection set up the Elementz as competition alongside Birmingham hip-hop heavyweights like MSI & Asylum. In Feb of 2001, the Elementz released an record edition of Neon Verses, this time around with 20 monitors. It further solidified the crew’s popularity for uniquely produced beats (incorporating such disparate components as oboe and homemade examples) behind socially up to date raps.
