The Comas took a hiatus following a release of 2007’s Spells, prompting co-founder Andy Herod to keep Brooklyn searching for a fresh muse. Almost a year spent in NEW YORK yielded the origins of a fresh project, which additional blossomed throughout a two-month stint in California and a following go back to the East Coastline. After settling down in Asheville, NC, Herod started documenting his debut recording under a fresh moniker: Electric powered Owls. Signing up for him in the Echo Hill studio were many veterans from the indie picture, like the Comas’ Jason Caperton, Music group of Horses/Archers of Loaf alum Matt Gentling, as well as the Gutter Twins’ Cully Symington. The ensuing record, Ain’t As well Bright, premiered by Vagrant Information in-may 2009.
