Elcodrive’s 4 principals had been veterans of two Massachusetts contemporary rock and roll crews when the music group came jointly in early 2001. Vocalist and bassist Mike Golarz have been in Something Ira, while Tom Smith (keyboards), Mike Courcy (electric guitar), and Costs Bassett (drums) originated from Bob’s Time Off. As Elcodrive, the quartet mined a fertile adult choice sound, large on hooks and on top of polish. Whilst getting the term out with regional gigs, the music group began documenting its debut record. Somewhere Between Occasionally fell in early 2003 from region A&R indie XOFF, and Elcodrive begun to marketplace itself aggressively at sector conferences just like the Midwest Music Summit and NEMO in Boston. In Sept of that calendar year, Elcodrive discovered itself a finalist in the 3rd annual Coca-Cola SONGS competition. Pitted against two various other hopefuls, Elcodrive would play that Oct on the CMJ Music Marathon in NEW YORK, using the victor executing for a nationwide TV audience on the American Music Honours in November.
