EL VY

A collaboration between National vocalist/lyricist Matt Berninger and multi-instrumentalist/producer Brent Knopf of Menomena and Ramona Falls, El VY (“pronounced such as a plural of Elvis; rhymes with ‘hell pie'”) found fruition in 2015. Close friends and periodic tour mates for over ten years, Berninger and Knopf have been sending music to one another for years, nonetheless it wouldn’t end up being until early 2015 that those audio snapshots would become more active. The causing 4AD-issued Go back to the Moon, the duo’s debut studio room long participant, pairs Berninger’s distinctive, sardonic wit and skewed narrative abilities with Knopf’s imaginative creation and versatile agreements. The first one in the LP, “Go back to the Moon (Politics Melody for Didi Bloome to Sing, With Crescendo)”, slipped in late Sept, using the full-length following afterwards that October.
